My venture into the training industry was a bit accidental. After years of enduring the late and hard hours of being a child welfare worker, I found myself yearning for a change. The emotional toll and the demanding nature of the job had taken its toll. It was during this time that I stumbled upon the opportunity to become a trainer. I was a “subject matter expert”, so how hard could it be?

Little did I know I was about to embark on a journey that would completely redefine my career path.

When it came to defining my role as a trainer, I had a clear choice. I could have been a trainer who checked off boxes and covered all the material, or I could have been a trainer who was truly committed to ensuring that people learned. I learned that an effective curriculum was essential to learner success. A trainer only brought the curriculum to life.
